A Flying Jatt- Plot in Detail
Mr. Rakesh Malhotra (Kay Kay Menon), a rich and powerful contractor, has built a factory on the shore of a lake into which pollutants and toxic waste are released. He intends to construct a bridge across it for faster traffic. Still, he is unable to do so due to a sacred tree on the opposite side of the lake on land owned by Mrs. Dhillon (Amrita Singh), a pure but strong and relentless Punjabi woman who stays with her son Aman Dhillon (Tiger Shroff) and his brother, Rohit Dhillon (Gaurav Pandey). Aman is a martial arts instructor at a school who has a crush on Kirti (Jacqueline Fernandez), another teacher.
After failing to frighten the Dhillon family into selling their land, Malhotra hires mercenary Raka (Nathan Jones) to do the task. Raka arrives at the tree with a chainsaw, but Aman appears and attempts to stop him. Raka severely beats Aman, but just as he prepares to decapitate him with the chainsaw, a lightning bolt strikes the tree. Raka is thrown away by the crash and lands among barrels of poisonous garbage outside Malhotra’s plant.
The next morning, Aman wakes up in his bed, unharmed, and assumes all that transpired was a dream. He also finds a khanda on his back, the same symbol that was etched on the tree and imprinted on him during the attack. Later that day, he and his brother discover that he is exhibiting odd behaviours, such as greater agility and the ability to absorb information by touching items. After fleeing an assault with superhuman speed, Rohit and his mother confirm that Aman has acquired superhuman abilities. She declares him a superhero right away.
Plot Post Intermission
Aman’s mother tells him the story of his father, Sardar Kartar Singh Dhillon, a Sikh who went to Shaolin to learn martial arts and was nicknamed “Flying Jatt,” after building him a costume and viewing him various superhero flicks for inspiration. She asks Aman to carry on his father’s tradition and keep Flying Jatt as his superhero moniker, to which he agrees. Despite a difficult start as a superhero, Flying Jatt is quickly known after he saves hostages from a terrorist attack at an airport. As his fame as a hero grows, Aman proposes to Kirti and exposes his true identity to her.
Raka is discovered alive, but he is now stronger and more deadly than before as a result of his exposure to the toxins at the factory, and more exposure makes him even more powerful. Aman goes on to confront him multiple times, each time defeating Raka before becoming seriously damaged in a horrific struggle. To spare him further agony, his brother Rohit takes his position as Flying Jatt and is viciously thrashed by Raka before dying. Following this, Aman is enraged by his brother’s death and murders Raka, becoming a Sikh Sardar.
