And what greater way to introduce a narrative of a noble warrior king, Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, portrayed by Akshay Kumar, and his battle to keep his dignity, people, and land from falling into the clutches of Muhammad Ghori of Ghazni, played by Manav Vij. Following then, the story delves into the king’s development as a human being and what drove him to confront Ghori on the battlefield. The action sequences in the film are brilliantly planned and photographed, but considering that the film is about a battle that shaped our history, you’d anticipate more war-time action in this drama. While the conversations add to the emotional effect of the story, they can be a little inconsistent at moments. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the movie’s filmmaker, and screenwriter did an excellent job of keeping the story clean and focused, with few digressions.
However, after the intermission, the attention on the woman-power theme waned as much as it required it to. It detracts from the movie’s main plot for a brief period. Furthermore, neither of the actors has indeed been given an accent to talk in, which is both good and terrible.
